Training begins

The months leading up to this September have been filled with much anticipation. For months, we have been looking forward to the day when we would finally begin our training in Abilene. That day has come and gone, and we have been tremendously blessed by our first three weeks of training. Our days are filled with Spanish lessons, cultural studies, mentoring, planning missionary strategies, worship, prayer, and strenghening our relationship with one another. Our conversations are filled with laughter, serious discussions, and excitement about the future. This is an exciting time for our team in two main ways. First, our dreams of fully devoting ourselves to team training and growth have been realized. Second, we are in the process of developing new dreams for the future while placing our trust in God to lead us where He wants us to go.

As a team, we continue to covet your prayers and encouragement for our mission. Please pray for our period of training so that we might be as prepared as possible for the challenges that await us on the field. Pray for our efforts to raise funds for the future. Pray for our growth as a team, both relationally and spiritually. Pray for our future mission and the Peruvian people. Pray that God would lead us constantly, and that God would use us wherever we are to spread the saving message of Jesus Christ.

Oh, and while your here, check out our latest team photo :)

No way you took that shot in Abilene! I’m glad you guys have gotten to the final stretch. It’s fun and stressful to realize that we have about a year until hitting the field. We, the Arequipa folk, will be glad to know you guys are there in Lima.

How is fundraising going for you guys? Do you have your funding? What churches are partnering with you?

    Peace,
    Kyle

It was great to see many of you guys at lectureship. I pray God’s blessing on your work and your preperation. Tell all of my friends down in Lima I said hi, especially Wendy Tejada (our adopted girl through compassion international).
