What a month it has been! As you might know, each month our team tries to spend a weekend with our different supporting congregations. The month of April led our team to Paris, Texas where the Davidsons showed off the team (minus the Thompsons) to the Lamar Avenue church. This was was tremendous time of blessing to both the church and the team. As the team met together in Paris, the Thompsons were visiting and interviewing with the Fairlane Church of Christ in Shelbyville, Tennessee. This congregation was wonderful to the Thompsons. They opened their homes and lives to the Thompsons, showered them with love and encouragement, and blessed them immensely during their time together. As of Wednesday, April 23rd, the Thompsons are fully-supported and are moving to Tennessee on May 17th (that’s right…in two days)! What a tremendous blessing it is to share such wonderful news with all who support us. God has provided in so many marvelous ways. It is increasingly special when God provides from places unknown to us. In a matter of five-weeks, the Thompsons went from having their first conversations with the Fairlane church to being fully-supported by the Fairlane church. What a marvelous chapter to God’s story for the Lima team. As most on the team phrase it, Justin and Alison are supported by the Miracleville Church of Christ in Miracleville, TN. Translation: we are in awe of the ways that God carries this team and provides in ways that are clearly of God and from God.
I ask, however, for all reading this to lift up our team in prayer, especially in light of the summer before us. As we all know, the summer is a busy season. Our calendars are jammed packed with church retreats and mission trips, weddings and family vacations, and a boat load of packing and preparation as we approach our August departure date for language school. These are all stressful things. Thus, we need your prayers that in the midst of serving and leading within our respective supporting congregations that we do not lose sight of the relationship that the Father is calling us to have intimately with Him. We as a team sincerely appreciate the time that you spend on your knees with the Father on our behalf. May we all be blessed as we fall down before our Lord.
