Costa Rica, Here We Come

It is official. Every member of our team has tickets to fly to Costa Rica in mid-August! Our team is storming into this beautiful Central American country in two waves, with half of the team arriving on August 19th and the other half on the 20th. After settling in and a brief orientation, we begin language school on September 1st. Then, the long journey of language-learning begins. We will live in the capital city, San José, for eight months while we learn the basic (and hopefully advanced) aspects of Spanish. This will be an amazing time of team growth, spiritual growth, cultural adaptation, mission preparation, and fun. With constant exposure to Spanish-speakers, we will be forced to our newly acquired Spanish skills. With immersion into the Latin culture, we will begin to learn about the various cultural differences between their culture and our own. And with rainforests, beaches, and beautiful scenery, we will be sure to enjoy all the great things that God has granted us. Please keep us in your prayers as we prepare to make this huge transition, one that is both incredibly exciting and amazingly scary!

Here is a brief video of a “walk-through” of the Spanish Language Institute in Costa Rica. For those of you that are easily sickened by motion, beware!
