Two Major Arrivals

Team Lima’s presence in Perú has been growing drastically over the several weeks. This increase first came from the arrival of the Yoakum family on August 18th. Wes, Stacy, Jakob, and Derek were accompanied to Lima with Wes’ mom, Kathleen, who immediately turned into Team Lima’s MVP for the month of August. Kathleen cooked, cleaned, went shopping for groceries, did laundry, and kept the boys so that Wes and Stacy could focus their attention on finding a house. Her presence will be sorely missed!

It has been a joy to have the Yoakums in Lima. We have shared meals, had great conversations, worshiped, laughed, and prayed. Their personalities, gifts, and spirits have already contributed to the work here, and we look forward to what God will do through them and the team in the future. Now, we eagerly anticipate the arrival of the Fletchers while we continue building relationships and strengthening ministry opportunities.

Speaking of eagerly anticipating arrivals, thank the Lord that we no longer have to wonder if Baby Thompson is Maya or Corban! Corban Luke Thompson was born August 23rd at 8:30 pm, and we are all thrilled. Corban is healthy, super cute, sleeps lots, and is super cute (did I already mention that?). Plus, Corban is our very first Peruvian team member. Praise the Lord for a healthy pregnancy, a healthy baby boy, and a healthy mother!
